Job Description: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented IT Support Assistant located in or near Hachimantai City, Iwate, Japan (specifically near Appi Kogen).
You will serve as the on-site "hands and eyes" for our remote engineering team based in Shanghai to support the network infrastructure at Harrow International School Appi Japan.
All complex configurations and high-level troubleshooting will be conducted remotely from Shanghai. Your primary role is to provide on-site physical coordination and basic technical assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
On-site Support: Be available to travel to the school site (180-8 Appikogen, Hachimantai) for scheduled or emergency tasks.
Physical Intervention: Perform hardware tasks such as plugging/unplugging network cables, restarting Cisco switches or Wireless Controllers (WLC), and checking equipment status lights.
Remote Coordination: Follow real-time instructions from Shanghai engineers via WeChat or video call to assist in troubleshooting or faulty parts replacement.
Documentation Support: Assist in verifying physical equipment lists or updated network topologies when required.
Requirements:
Technical Skills: Minimum CCNA-level foundational knowledge (understand VLANs, cabling, and basic Cisco hardware).
Language: Must be fluent in Chinese (to communicate with the Shanghai team) and have functional English or Japanese (for on-site environment).
Location: The ability to reach the site promptly for urgent issues (within a 4-hour response window for emergencies).
Commitment: We are looking for a long-term partner who is reliable and responsive.
Equipment: Must have a smartphone with a camera for video coordination and a laptop for basic console access if needed.
Payment & Frequency:
Frequency: Minimum of 3 on-site visits per year.
Rate: Starting at 3,000 CNY (approx. 60,000+ JPY) per visit (duration within 5 hours).
