Restore Cisco Router from ROMmon
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I have a Cisco router that now boots straight into ROMmon. I’m on the console port and can interrupt the sequence, but the primary IOS image appears to be corrupted or missing. I need guidance to load a clean image, return the router to normal operation, and preserve the existing startup-config.
What I need from you:
• Exact ROMmon commands and sequence to transfer or locate a working IOS image (TFTP, USB, or XMODEM—whichever you recommend).
• Steps to confirm the startup-config is still intact and will automatically load after the fix.
• Precautionary actions so the configuration is not lost during flash cleanup or image replacement.
• If necessary, instructions to capture a backup of the running or startup configuration over the console before any risky commands are issued.
I can share my live console session and follow your directions in real time. The job is complete once the router boots normally with the original configuration present. Please include a brief outline of your approach and the turnaround time you can offer.
