Cisco & Linux Network Engineer Needed
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have a mixed Cisco + Linux environment that requires hands-on configuration and ongoing optimisation. The immediate scope covers setting up and properly documenting our routers, switches, and firewalls, all of which are running recent Cisco IOS releases. Once the devices are online, I’ll rely on you to keep an eye on the network, spot issues early, and resolve them before users notice.
Key objectives
• Build or refine device configurations (VLANs, routing, ACLs, NAT, VPN as applicable).
• Track health and traffic, quickly identify connectivity faults, and restore service.
• Tune links, QoS, and other parameters so latency and throughput stay within target.
• Leave me with clear backups and a short, plain-English summary of every change.
You are free to use the standard Cisco CLI toolset along with Linux-based utilities such as tcpdump, Wireshark, NetFlow, or SNMP collectors—whatever you normally trust for real-time monitoring and post-incident analysis—as long as the final configs remain readable and fully reproducible.
Acceptance criteria
1. All routers, switches, and firewalls reachable by SSH and responding to basic monitoring checks.
2. No unresolved interface errors or flapping links after optimisation.
3. A concise report listing the issues found, the commands or scripts applied, and recommended next steps.
