USB Resin Art Lighting Circuit Design

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I am putting together a new resin-art piece that combines two separate lighting effects:

• a small, ready-made neon USB sign that already runs from a USB-A male plug
• an additional LED section made up of twelve 3 V LEDs—eleven flickering units plus one that stays steadily lit.

My goal is to power both lighting zones from the single USB plug that currently feeds the neon sign, wiring the LED circuit in parallel without affecting the neon’s behaviour or drawing more current than a standard 5 V USB source can safely supply.

What I need from you is the complete electrical design:

1. a clear schematic showing how the USB 5 V line is split, what resistors (or constant-current drivers) are required for the flicker LEDs versus the steady LED, and how it all ties back to the neon sign leads
2. a concise parts list with component values, preferred package types, and wire gauges suited for embedding in resin
3. any brief assembly notes specific to resin work—heat-shrink locations, moisture protection, and how to keep the circuit low-profile so it can be hidden in the casting.

If there’s a smarter way to manage current—step-up/step-down module, ULN driver, or similar—feel free to propose it, but please keep the solution simple enough that I can solder it on a small protoboard and encapsulate it cleanly.
