The goal is to refresh an existing circuit board used in a consumer-electronics product so that the Raspberry Pi Pico becomes the core microcontroller. The original functional blocks and footprints are already proven; this project focuses on adapting the layout, pin mapping, and support circuitry to suit the Pico while keeping dimensions, connectors, and user-accessible interfaces as close to the current enclosure as possible.

Key points
• All logic now pivots around the Raspberry Pi Pico’s RP2040.
• Power-handling and wireless sections remain unchanged unless the new routing requires minor tweaks—no extra communication modules are planned at this stage.
• Trace widths, spacing, and ground strategy should comply with mainstream two-layer manufacturing guidelines so the board is economical to fabricate at volume.

Deliverables
1. Updated schematic in KiCad (or Altium if preferred).
2. Optimised PCB layout with labelled test points.
3. Clean BOM referencing readily available components.
4. Gerber, drill, and assembly files ready for a prototype run.

Design is complete when the files import without DRC errors and the Pico boots a simple “blink” test sketch on first power-up.
