KiCad Expert for Split Keyboard PCB Modification + JLCPCB PCBA Ready
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I’m looking for a freelancer with proven KiCad and JLCPCB experience to adjust a 54-key split keyboard PCB (TRRS connection between halves).
Objective:
Convert the current “reversible” PCB into dedicated left and right boards.
Ensure the RP2040 Zero is oriented with buttons facing up on both sides.
Prepare the project for JLCPCB PCBA prototyping.
Scope:
Modify the left PCB.
Create a dedicated right PCB.
Update diode footprints and, only if necessary, Cherry MX hotswap socket footprints.
Keep RP2040 Zero and PJ320D as THT parts for later manual soldering.
Add and validate JLCPCB Part # in the BOM using in-stock components.
Constraints:
Do not change PCB dimensions.
Do not move switches, RP2040 Zero, or PJ320D.
Only diodes can be repositioned (hotswap sockets only if strictly required for manufacturing).
Preserve the original electrical functionality.
Required deliverables:
Final KiCad project (schematic + PCB for both sides).
Gerber + drill files.
BOM (Ref, value, footprint, MPN, JLCPCB Part #).
CPL (Pick and Place file).
ERC/DRC with no critical errors.
Brief change summary.
To apply, please include:
Examples of similar KiCad + JLCPCB work.
KiCad version you will use.
Estimated timeline.
Initial technical questions/observations.
Estimated timeline: 4–7 days, including 2 rounds of minor revisions.
