Durable X-Axis Solar Tracking Shade
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a single-axis (X) solar tracking sun shade. This project requires using off-the-shelf Solar Tracking, Electronic Compass, & Angular Hall Effect Modules alongside custom hardware and firmware.
The primary purpose of this sun shade is to provide consistent shading. Therefore, the design must be able to reliably track the sun and adjust accordingly to maintain shade over a designated area.
Combined device will operate a linear actuator with 100cm of travel to keep a sun shade that is attached to the actuator between sun and the target.
As the actuator assembly rotates on the x-axis, the device tracks the sun and moves the actuator in or out to keep the target in the "shade", subject to the physical limitations of the actuator.
Key requirements:
- Knowledge and experience in designing and implementing custom hardware and firmware for solar tracking systems.
- Ability to incorporate off-the-shelf components into a cohesive and functional design.
