Design A Pulse Transformer with 44 KV Primary 0.5 J To Secondary Capacitor Buffer Of Practicable Switching Voltage

Job ID: 37509453

Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 CAD

I am looking for a skilled professional who can design a pulse transformer for my project. The transformer must have the following specifications:

Frequency Range: Low frequency (1 kHz - 1 MHz)
Size and Weight: Size is not a concern, so it can be of any size or weight
Core Material: Ferrite

Ideal Skills and Experience:

- Experience in designing pulse transformers for low frequency applications
- Proficiency in selecting and using ferrite as the core material for transformers
- Knowledge of circuit design and buffer capacitor selection for practical switching voltage, perhaps
700 V to 1200 V as this buffer capacitor is SCR switched and can be doubled if necessary.
The primary winding input is triggered using 60 Philips BT-151R SCRs and the source is merely
a 500 pF capacitor charged to 44KV.

The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of pulse transformer design principles and be able to deliver a high-quality design that meets the specified requirements. They should also be able to provide recommendations on the best practices for achieving efficient and reliable performance.

I just finished a task with a chap who claimed he could design this for me, claiming various experience
as well as the help from higher offices of universities at his disposal. And NOTHING was achieved and my first post on Freelancer turned out to be a big waste of time. I don't want to hear this "I have Maxwell or Psim software at my disposal" and then tell me 3 days later that it cant calculate or predict core saturation when this is the crux of the problem. You should have enough experience to calculate at least a 50% efficiency on paper alone and slide rule. Complete color television sets were designed in 1954 and there was no electromagnetics software in order to calculate the maximum magnetic flux strength for electron deviation of the cathode ray tube yoke back in 1954.
You must be an electrical engineer with at least 10 years experience designing transformers with powder toroid cores
with gapping. From my results so far with a 2% efficiency, it must be a high bandwidth material such as
Magnetics Inc ZW-43806-TC gapped to 0.030" somewhere in that vicinity and many stacked together as the output maximum current (minimum Ohmic) seems to correlate with the physical dimensions of the height of the toroid stack as well as a smaller perhaps ZW-41406-TC gapped to 0.020" for a total of one physical length being in the vicinity of 2 to 4 feet. And as well, you're dealing with a capacitive load buffer with perhaps a resonant capacitor directly coupled to the secondary output and ahead of the buffer capacitor high current and high speed rectifier. The rest is up to you. All the stipulations and starting parameters are posted here and there shouldn't be anymore questions about this problem as it is most likely two weeks work for someone who knows how to solve every AC problem in Schaum's Outlines in 5 minutes, including core saturation given the company datasheet for the type of ferrite material you're designing. why you chose this particular physical dimension of the toroid, the average energy stored in all cores or whether it really needs a tertiary winding to reset the cores capacitively by reflex current inversion or whether to inject some kind of heterodyne action to keep this unipolar pulse well away from saturation on the B-H curve. If you know and are expereinced with the subject of transformer electromagnetics and accompanying theory to practice minutiae and you are confident about these stipulations, then please respond for the award as this isn't a weekend pet project for you fresh out of university with zero field experience, and several thousand dollars is a lot of cash for me dole out to someone, this shouldn't take long, no more than two weeks. As well, I loath to dicker with my PC in order to clear out the last freelancer who couldn't do it because he kept insisting to use what's app and giving me "lines". No time wasters please. Primary help about the answer exists in writ here for you already and that's 20% done for you.
