Conference Room Proximity Sensor Circuit designer
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Looking to create a device that can sense when a divisible conference room is divided or combined. At its base function I will want to program it to tell it how far from wall it is (does not need to be to precise) and when it sees a target threshold change from lets say 4 inches to greater then 6 I can program it to trigger something. It should also have 2 leds green and white again programmable, a "reset" button that again is programmable, use SD card for software and then a POE RJ45 for power and data. ill will have a webpage for it that other conference room tech like crestron or QSYS can have plugins for attached "design layout" the rough placement ill want everything..
I can have the PCB made just looking for someone to help design it, I did also use chatGPT/Grok/Copilot to come up with what looks like the needed components but could be way off. I would want to handle the programming myself I think.
Want to keep it not to crazy expensive, ideally keeping the BOM total minus the circuit board around $100, I am not tied to optical sensor would also be open to LiDAR but I think that will be cost & space prohibitive. Senor should be able to sense as little as a few MM and as long as a 20 feet ideally but if costs gets in the way a few feet would work to. This should be as small as possible, thinking about once I throw a 3 printed shell over it (I would handle that) to minimize the eyesore in a ceiling. Crestron makes something similar that's not POE if you want a reference for size.
