Record Theater Play – Basic Edit
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have a three-night run of a stage play coming up and need the performances captured cleanly and creatively. Each night should be filmed front-to-back, then shaped into a single, polished MOV file that I can archive and share with the cast.
Here’s what I’m after: the camera work must feel alive, so please combine wide shots that show the full stage with tasteful close-ups on key moments; think of it as a mixed-shot highlight reel rather than a static recording. Audio from the house feed plus a room mic to catch audience reaction will be ideal.
Once recording wraps, give the footage a basic edit—trim dead time, balance audio levels, add a simple fade-in/out and a title slate with the show’s name and date. No colour grading or VFX required beyond that.
Deliverables
• One edited MOV file for each performance (3 in total)
• Backup of original camera files on drive or cloud
You’ll need to bring your own cameras, tripods and mics, arrive early for a quick lighting check and stay until final curtain. If you shoot multi-cam, sync them in the edit; if you prefer a single roaming rig, keep movements smooth and unobtrusive.
