I keep a growing archive of travel clips, seasonal footage and the odd batch of photos and voice memos that never seem to leave the hard-drive. I’m ready to turn those fragments into polished, cinematic keepsakes.
Here is what I have in mind. I’ll hand over a folder that mixes video (a mix of modern quality captured on a Samsung ultra phone, 35mm film photography, and older style footage from a 2009 camcorder), a handful of stills and the raw audio I captured on the day. Your brief is to shape it into a cohesive lifestyle-style short film that feels like something we would gladly screen years from now. Think flowing cinematic pacing, colour-matched shots, tasteful transitions and a soundtrack that blends instrumental moments with the right raw/authentic tracks whenever it lifts the immersion. Definitely not just one piece of music in the background and a slide show. The videos can be more immersive and organic with a cinematic feel. Text can be at the start to introduce the title/context/date, the rest doesn't need text.
To start, we’ll test the waters on one project: our recent Christmas period. If the final cut strikes the right tone and the whole idea feels appropriate, I’d like to come back to you several times a year with new batches - summer road trips, milestone birthdays, maybe even a few everyday montages from seasons. I’m keen to set up a workflow that feels effortless on both sides.
I’ll supply:
• Raw media via your preferred method, along with written context of what it is.
• Any must-use music files or references.
• Light notes on story beats I’d love highlighted if needed.
You’ll deliver:
• A fully edited master file (4K or 1080p, depending on the media)
• The project file so future tweaks stay possible.
