Senior DevOps / Production Deployment Engineer Needed — Modular Compliance Platform (React/FastAPI/MongoDB)
We have completed a working MVP for a cloud-based modular construction compliance, QC, certification, and project tracking platform for the Australian housing market (NCC Class 1a).
The system already includes:
* React frontend
* FastAPI backend
* MongoDB
* Role-based authentication (RBAC)
* 15-stage Factory QC workflow
* Site Evidence Pack
* Australian Certification tracking
* NCR/CAR system
* PDF Evidence Pack export
* Offline PWA sync queue
* Notifications system
* Daily Admin Digest
* GitHub export documentation
* Production handover documentation
* Security hardening and production boot guards
The platform is now entering:
PRODUCTION INFRASTRUCTURE, DEPLOYMENT, SECURITY, AND OPERATIONAL HARDENING.
We are seeking a senior developer / DevOps engineer to assist with production deployment, infrastructure ownership setup, security validation, CI/CD, and operational readiness.
Current Status
* Backend tests: 75/75 passing
* Email delivery currently MOCKED (`EMAIL_ENABLED=false`)
* Production mode currently disabled (`PRODUCTION=false`)
* GitHub export docs completed
* Handover documentation completed
* Boot guard prevents unsafe production startup
Scope of Work
1. GitHub Ownership & CI/CD
* Push project into customer-owned private GitHub repository
* Validate `.gitignore`
* Verify no secrets committed
* Configure GitHub Actions / CI pipeline
* Validate deployment workflows
2. Production Infrastructure Provisioning
Assist with setup and hardening of:
* Production hosting (AWS / Render / Railway / Fly.io or recommendation)
* MongoDB Atlas production cluster
* Object storage (AWS S3 preferred)
* Secret/environment variable management
* SSL/domain configuration
* Production backups
* Monitoring/logging recommendations
All infrastructure must remain customer-owned.
3. Production Security Hardening
Tasks include:
* JWT hardening
* Secret rotation
* Production env validation
* Rate limiting
* CORS lockdown
* IP allow-listing where required
* Removal/gating of development endpoints
* Password reset flow hardening
* Production deployment validation
4. Resend Email Integration
Once production infrastructure is confirmed:
* configure Resend
* verify domain
* enable live email delivery
* test notification workflows
* validate digest jobs
* validate password reset delivery
5. Production Deployment & Smoke Testing
Assist with:
* first production deployment
* smoke testing
* deployment rollback procedures
* environment validation
* uptime checks
* operational verification
