Engineering Manager

The client is a platform to educate and prepare students for modern-day careers such as data science by combining the best aspects of MOOCs, vocational schools, apprenticeships, and boot camps. We're developing a brand-new education model that is both affordable for students and beneficial for companies by eliminating financial risks, providing access to better income mobility, and creating the next generation workforce in AI. Client, we are offering our flagship data science program which goes by the name 'learn-earn-return' program. As the name implies, we invite motivated students to learn data science through our highly engaging curriculum, help them get placed with a salary of 6 LPA for freshers in high paying companies, and finally, they make the tuition payments in small EMIs only after they have landed a job, else they pay nothing at all.
About the role :
We are looking for trustworthy and proactive engineering managers with many years’ engineering experience and proven leadership skills. Engineering managers can expect to work on many projects at the same time, build and manage diverse teams of engineers from different disciplines, formulate and execute strategies, and coordinate with other managers. Their responsibilities usually include researching and developing new designs and products, proposing budgets for projects, and overseeing all the activities related to each project.
To be successful as an engineering manager, you should have exceptional foresight, great communication skills, working knowledge of different engineering disciplines and how they relate to one another, and an aptitude for managing risk. Ideally, candidates will have proof of their supervisory and technical skills, and an appreciation for the complex nature of the industry.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Proposing and managing budgets for projects.
2. Supervising the work of multiple teams.
3. Planning and executing strategies for completing projects on time.
4. Researching and developing designs and products.
5. Determining the need for training and talent development.
6. Hiring contractors and building teams.
7. Ensuring products have the support of upper management.
8. Providing clear and concise instructions to engineering teams.
Requirements:
*Excellent analytical skills and understanding of computing fundamentals
*5+ years of work experience
*Knowledge of front end technologies(HTML, CSS and Javascript)
*Hands on experience of front end framework (ReactJS)
*Experience working with AWS Serverless Technologies(Lambda, ApiGateway, Cognito, DynamoDB)
*Proficient in back end languages(NodeJS, Python)
*Familiarity with sql and nosql databases
*Experience with CI/CD and automation methodologies
