SEM Characterization for Silicate Adhesive
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I have already synthesized an oligomer containing thiourethane groups and mixed it with sodium silicate to create a promising eco-friendly adhesive. At this stage I need deep insight into how the modification has altered the material, with the main focus on scanning electron microscopy.
Your primary task will be to prepare representative samples, carry out SEM imaging, and interpret the surface-morphology data so we can correlate microstructure with the adhesive’s macroscopic behaviour. If you are able to complement SEM with spectroscopy, thermal or mechanical tests, that extra perspective would be welcome, but the SEM work is what will drive the current decision points in my research.
Deliverables
• High-resolution SEM micrographs highlighting surface morphology changes after oligomer incorporation
• A concise analytical report interpreting the images and linking observations to possible adhesion mechanisms
• Recommendations on any further characterization or formulation tweaks suggested by the findings
