Thermal Performance Optimization of Dimpled Tube
Budget: $50 – $0 AUD
I'm seeking an experienced CFD analyst to conduct a comprehensive thermal performance prediction of a dimpled tube using ANSYS Fluent. The primary objective of this project is to assess heat transfer improvement over plain tube
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct CFD analysis with a focus on heat transfer improvement.
- Utilize ANSYS Fluent software for the simulations. Note that we are open to any other software systems that may be relevant/beneficial
- Provide detailed outputs specifically on heat transfer coefficients. We are also looking to assess what effect the dimples will have on pressure drop
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proficient in CFD analysis, particularly with ANSYS Fluent.
- Previous experience with thermal performance predictions of tubular heat exchangers for liquids is a plus
-familiarity with industrial heat transfer selection programs such as HTRI will be helpful ( we are accredited users currently)
- Strong understanding of heat transfer principles and techniques.
- Ability to deliver detailed and precise data outputs.
Note that we have field data collected from equipment doing duties and we have some direct comparison data collected from side-by-side trials dimpled tubes against plain tubes
This data will be used to calibrate/check the theoretical findings ( after solving using the technology)
We design and build heat transfer equipment for liquids, including high viscosity liquids and slurries
We also do phase change heat exchangers such as liquids to gases
