Sourcing Specialist for Fabric Bandages
Budget: $10 – $55 USD
We are seeking a Chemical Engineer to identify and source biodegradable, non-toxic adhesive materials and create a manufacturer-ready formulation for our bamboo bandages. Rather than developing new adhesive technology from scratch, this role focuses on utilizing existing biodegradable polymers, plant-based resins, and other sustainable adhesive components to create an optimal formulation that meets performance, safety, and sustainability criteria.
The final formulation must be fully tested, documented, and ready for direct handoff to manufacturers, ensuring a seamless transition to large-scale production.
Key Responsibilities
Source and evaluate biodegradable and skin-safe adhesive materials that align with our sustainability and performance goals.
Formulate a biodegradable, non-toxic adhesive using existing, commercially available raw materials that adhere effectively to bamboo fabric and human skin.
Ensure the formulation is hypoallergenic, latex-free, and dermatologically safe for sensitive skin.
Conduct stability, performance, and biodegradability testing to validate adhesive effectiveness and compostability.
Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure the formulation meets production feasibility, scalability, and cost requirements.
Document and finalize the adhesive formulation, including:
Complete technical dossier
Ingredient specifications
Mixing and processing instructions
Quality control parameters
Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO, and other regulatory standards for medical adhesives.
