Silk Screen De-Grese / De-Ghosting Chemical
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
I work exclusively with silk screen printing and need a reliable way to wipe out the faint image remnants that stay embedded in the mesh after reclaiming. Standard chemical solvents have already been through several rounds here, yet the ghosting persists, so I’m after something stronger — or smarter — that removes those lingering images without damaging the mesh or compromising future stencil adhesion.
CHEMICAL ENGINEERING NOT IT
What I need from you
• A proven chemical formulation or a recommendation of an off-the-shelf product specifically designed for de-ghosting silk screens.
• Clear, step-by-step usage instructions: dilution ratios, dwell time, agitation method, and any neutralising or rinsing steps.
• Safety and handling guidelines, including PPE requirements and disposal advice.
• If the solution is a proprietary blend, the ability to supply a small test quantity (or outline sourcing for each component) is essential.
Acceptance criteria
A treated 120-mesh screen must show no visible ghost image under bright back-light inspection after one application and standard rinse.
If you have the chemistry background or industry experience to deliver this, I’m ready to move quickly.
