Formulation Chemist for testing Project Short Term.
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
Summary
We are developing a performance-focused, alcohol-free electronic cleaning wipe for gaming controllers and peripherals. A baseline formulation is already defined. We are now seeking a UK-based chemist or formulator to support independent testing and validation, not a full R&D programme.
This is a short-term, fixed-scope contract, suitable for an experienced formulator who understands low-residue surface chemistry.
What success looks like
Confident validation that the formulation does not leave residue
Confirmation that surface grip is not degraded after cleaning
Clear, practical feedback on any formulation risks before scale-up in full English
Responsibilities
Review an existing alcohol-free wipe formulation
Advise on residue behaviour on ABS and similar plastics
Support or conduct basic grip / surface feel testing after drying
Flag any issues related to ingredient choice, ratios, or scale-up
Provide concise, actionable feedback (not theoretical research)
Qualifications
Experience in formulation chemistry (detergents, home care, industrial or surface cleaning preferred)
Understanding of non-ionic surfactants and low-residue systems
Practical, hands-on mindset
Ability to work on a short, clearly defined engagement
UK-based (for testing / communication convenience) is preferred but not specific
Notes
This role is not cosmetic or skincare formulation
No patent work or long-term R&D roadmap required
Ideal for independent consultants or senior chemists open to short engagements
If this sounds relevant, please get in touch with a brief summary of your background and availability.
Ignore the budget...we will pay for the right outcome.
