Eco-Friendly Brow Dye Formulation
Budget: $5,000 – $8,000 USD
I’m developing a complete line of gentle, semi-permanent hair colours and matching eyebrow stains, and I’m looking for a cosmetic chemist who can guide me from concept to shelf while keeping the ingredient list as clean as possible. My immediate needs are two-fold: first, to reverse-engineer a few benchmark products that inspire me, and second, to create original, low-toxicity formulas that perform just as vibrantly.
What matters most is minimising harsh chemicals without sacrificing colour payoff or wear time. If you have a track record of formulating oxidative-free or low-ammonia systems, plant-based dye blends, or other innovative approaches to “clean” colour, I’d love to leverage that expertise.
Deliverables I expect at each key stage:
• Reverse-engineering reports for the reference products, including full INCI breakdowns and functional rationale
• Lab-scale prototypes for both the hair colour and brow stain, with clear mixing and processing instructions
• Stability, compatibility and basic safety data (pH, viscosity, microbial challenge)
• Final manufacturing-ready formula files and recommended raw-material suppliers
