The product is a medical catheter that includes a compliant balloon. The balloon is made from Pellethane 80A. A materials/process engineer with expertise in the development and manufacture of medical balloon for balloon catheter is required. Deep knowledge of thermomechanical properties of polyurethanes materials is required. The guru should be an expert in blowing balloons ideally with a Pellethane 80A material. The expert will define a process that will result in medical balloons that are very resistant to creep deformation. In use this balloon is inflated to 200-300% for long periods of time at body temperature and it is inflated and deflated many times during use. CREEP resistance is a critical output of the process. The balloons have a nominal (formed) diameter of 6mm and are inflated to 15mm in use. The expert should provide guidance on: (1) the best blowing pressure, (2) the best balloon blowing temperature, (3) the best conditioning/crystallization temperature and why?, (4) the minimum conditioning time and why? (5) any other key process parameters that should be factored in. The extrusion tubing diameter is about 5mm.

Please outline how the process parameters chosen relate to the properties of the material soft phase and material hard phase.

At the moment the extruded tubing in inserted into the mold and blown at 85C and this results in balloons that have poor creep resistance.
