Aspen Plus MSW Gasification Study

Job ID: 40524843

Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR

I need a complete Aspen Plus flowsheet that simulates the steam/air gasification of municipal solid waste (MSW). My main goal is to evaluate this feedstock against key performance indicators, so the model must let me read out syngas composition, tar formation and char yield cleanly at the outlet.

The core work involves:

• Building or adapting the reactor network (drying, pyrolysis, gasification and ash handling) with property methods appropriate for heterogeneous biomass.
• Entering a realistic MSW ultimate/proximate analysis (I will supply data; feel free to propose typical values if anything is missing).
• Calibrating reaction sets so the model converges and mass-balances.
• Generating sensitivity runs that highlight how temperature, steam-to-biomass ratio and equivalence ratio affect the three outputs above.

Deliverables:
1. The Aspen Plus (.bkp) file, fully annotated.
2. An Excel or PDF summary that tabulates syngas composition (H₂, CO, CO₂, CH₄, etc.), total tar, and char yield for each case, plus brief discussion of trends.
3. Screenshots or short notes explaining any assumptions, correlations or user-defined models added.

Acceptance criteria: the mass balance must close within ±2 %, calculated tar + char + gas should equal 100 % of carbon input, and all unit blocks must converge without recycle “tears”.

While the immediate focus is MSW, I’d like the model structured so that wood chips or agricultural waste could be swapped in later with minimal adjustment. Familiarity with Aspen custom solids handling and RYield/RStoic blocks will be a plus.
