Aspen MDEA Biogas Scrubbing Simulation

Job ID: 40263656

Budget: ₹750 – ₹1,250 INR

I need a complete Aspen model that represents an MDEA-based amine scrubbing loop treating raw biogas for CO₂ removal. The purpose is straightforward: build the simulation from the ground up and use it to quantify, and ultimately reduce, the unit’s energy consumption—steam to the stripper reboiler, electricity for pumps and any refrigeration, plus heat-integration opportunities.

What I expect you to do

• Create the Aspen Plus (or HYSYS) flowsheet with absorber, regenerator, heat exchangers, pumps and any necessary flash drums.
• Select the appropriate thermodynamic package for MDEA/CO₂/CH₄/H₂S-water systems and justify the choice inside the model notes.
• Input operating data that I will supply (raw gas flow, composition, pressure, desired outlet CO₂ spec).
• Run steady-state simulations, then carry out sensitivity studies on key variables—amine circulation rate, lean loading, absorber pressure, and regenerator temperature—to show how each scenario impacts energy demand.
• Summarise results in a short technical memo (max 5 pages) that highlights base-case utilities, identifies the largest energy sinks, and recommends process tweaks that save energy without compromising CO₂ capture efficiency.

Acceptance criteria

1. Aspen file opens and converges without errors on my machine (v12 or later).
2. Energy balances close to within 2 %.
3. Report includes at least three operating envelopes with clear comparison of total duty (GJ/ton CO₂ removed).

Deliver the .bkp/.apw file, the memo (PDF or Word) and any calculation sheets you use.

If you have existing experience modelling MDEA or have heat-integration insight, mention it in your bid along with an estimated timeframe for the base case and the sensitivity runs.
