React App & Mobile AI Upgrade

I have an existing full-stack project that includes a React web app and its companion mobile application. Both the front-end and the back-end are running on older package versions, so the first phase is a clean upgrade to the latest stable releases—resolving any breaking changes and ensuring all tests, builds, and deployments run smoothly again.

Once the codebase is current, I want to layer in native AI functionality powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Specifically, the product must:

• Offer an in-app chat experience that fields user questions conversationally in real time
• Generate content on demand, focused on two use cases: concise text summaries and custom responses tailored to user prompts

The ChatGPT integration should be secure, rate-limited, and easily configurable through environment variables so we can swap keys or models down the line. Both the chat UI and the content-generation workflows need to feel seamless inside the existing apps, following established design patterns.

Final deliverables:

• Updated web and mobile repositories with all packages brought up to date and no deprecated calls
• Comprehensive migration notes or scripts that document the upgrade path
• New API endpoints / service layer for ChatGPT, plus the front-end components that consume them
• Clear README updates and a short demo video showing the chat and content-generation features working end-to-end
