Whimsical Children’s Illustrations
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’ve just finished writing a picture book starring an adventurous little girl and her mischievous puppy with rainbow-colored ears, and I’m ready to bring their world to life. I need 18–20 full-colour spreads in a whimsical style, each set in outdoor, nature-filled settings—think meadows, forests, and sun-dappled streams. While the puppy’s ears will burst with rainbow hues, the overall palette should lean toward warm, grounded earth tones so the colours pop without overwhelming young readers.
Here’s what I’m aiming for: every illustration should flow with the story, capture expressive character moments, and feel cohesive as a series. I’ll provide page-by-page text, rough layout notes, and reference sketches for scale and character details. Final artwork should arrive print-ready (CMYK, 300 dpi, full bleed) plus a separate RGB web version so I can use them for marketing. Layered PSD or high-resolution TIFF is preferred, but I’m flexible if you have another professional workflow.
Once we agree on a rough schedule, I’d like to see thumbnail sketches for all pages first, then one finished sample spread before you move on to the rest. Clear, friendly communication is important to me; I’m happy to hop on quick calls or share feedback in writing—whatever keeps the creative energy flowing.
