Watercolor Children’s Book Illustrations
Budget: $100 – $150 AUD
I’m creating a picture book about a curious little girl who spends a day visiting friendly animals, and I need 6–10 full-color illustrations to bring her journey to life. I’m leaning toward a soft, storybook-style watercolor look—think gentle textures, warm palettes, and expressive characters—but I’m happy to see other approaches if you feel another style will capture the charm of the story even better.
Each scene will feature the girl interacting with a different animal (kangaroos, emus, koalas etc), so a knack for conveying personality through subtle gestures and facial expressions is important. I’ll supply a brief for every spread with rough thumbnails and text placement notes; you handle the visual magic from initial sketch through final, print-ready art.
Deliverables
• 6–10 high-resolution illustrations (300 dpi, CMYK) sized for an 8×10-inch trim
• Layered source files (PSD or Procreate) plus flattened TIFF/PNG for print
• Two rounds of minor revisions on color and composition
