Realistic Fantasy Character & Species Illustrations
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m putting the finishing touches on a fantasy-adventure book and its companion website, and I need a skilled illustrator to bring several characters and original species to life. All artwork must be rendered realistically, front-view only, with no background so I can drop the figures straight onto page layouts and digital mock-ups without extra editing.
Here’s what I need from you:
• A series of high-detail, front-facing illustrations covering humans, animals, and completely new mythical creatures described in my brief.
• Final files delivered as layered PSD or high-resolution PNG with transparent backgrounds, large enough for print (minimum 300 dpi at roughly A4 size).
• Colours, textures, anatomy, and costume details that match the written descriptions exactly; clean edges suitable for web export.
I will supply a clear, itemised reference sheet for each character or species—including height guides, colour palettes, and call-outs for key features—so you can focus purely on the rendering. Consistency across the set is essential because the images will appear side by side in both media.
If this realistic style and single-view format sound like your strength, please share a couple of portfolio pieces that show comparable work and let me know roughly how many hours you’d need per figure. Prompt, open communication is vital, as I’m working to a publishing deadline.
Looking forward to collaborating and seeing these characters step off the page.
