Gothic Whimsical Pencil Illustrations
Budget: £10 – £15 GBP
I’m finishing a children’s horror-adventure book and want each page to feel like the reader has stepped into a slightly crooked, Gothic world that is still fun and inviting. The atmosphere I’m after is whimsical with a creepy twist—think playful ghosts hiding behind cracked columns, or a curious hero tip-toeing through a candle-lit corridor that looks both spooky and charming.
All artwork must be traditional pencil sketches. Shading should be loose and sketchy, with visible line work that enhances the eerie mood without becoming too dark for young readers. You’re welcome to scan or photograph the drawings for delivery, but the core of the work must begin on paper.
Deliverables
• Concept roughs that establish character proportions, key props, and overall tone
• Final pencil illustrations at print-ready resolution (minimum 300 dpi) in TIFF or high-quality PNG
• Clean scans with no smudges or unintended shadows; light digital cleanup is fine as long as the hand-drawn feel remains intact
Once we agree on a scene list I’ll supply chapter summaries, page dimensions, and any specific visual cues. We can set milestones around concept approval and final artwork handoff so you always know what’s next.
