I’m looking for a skilled illustrator to create character artwork for an upcoming dark fantasy romance project. These visuals will be used for marketing, promotional materials, and potential future branding, so I’m after high-quality, striking work that captures mood and character depth.
Project Overview
Create detailed character illustrations based on descriptions provided
Style: dark, atmospheric, romantic, slightly edgy
Characters may include:
Morally grey / powerful male leads
Strong, feminine female protagonists
Dark fantasy elements (e.g. elemental magic, weapons, symbolic features, medieval gothic style world building)
The goal is to create artwork that feels cinematic, emotionally charged, and visually captivating—something that immediately draws readers into the world.
Artwork Requirements
High-resolution illustrations (minimum 300 DPI)
Full colour, polished finish
Suitable for:
Social media marketing
Website use
Promotional graphics
Consistent style across multiple characters (potential for ongoing work)
Style Direction
Open to your interpretation, but ideally within:
Semi-realistic to realistic character style
Strong lighting, shadow, and mood
Romantic tension / dark allure
Not cartoonish or overly stylised
Usage & Rights
This is a work-for-hire project
I require full commercial rights and unrestricted usage (including advertising, publishing, and merchandise if required)
Artwork must be original (no AI-generated or stock-based content)
