Storybook Illustration - Kindhearted Dog Tale
Budget: ₹750 – ₹1,250 INR
Barnaby was a very good boy, but his paws were simply too big for his body. Whenever he wagged his fluffy tail, a flowerpot fell. Whenever he chased a butterfly, he tripped over his own ears. But Barnaby had the biggest, kindest heart in Oakville. He loved making people smile.
One sunny afternoon, Barnaby trotted into the backyard where his human, Leo, was preparing for a costume party. On the grass sat a giant, bright polka-dot clown suit, complete with a fuzzy red nose and a bouncy rainbow collar.
Barnaby sniffed the red nose. Achoo!
His sneeze pushed him forward, and his front paws slid right into the yellow sleeves. He scrambled to back out, but his hind legs got tangled in the baggy green pants. With a final, clumsy wiggle, Barnaby’s head popped right through the stretchy rainbow collar. The fuzzy red nose somehow stuck perfectly to his wet snout.
He was trapped! Barnaby looked in the glass door. He looked like a giant, furry jellybean.
Just then, he heard a cry from the fence. It was Lily, the little girl next door. She had scraped her knee and was crying sad, heavy tears. Barnaby forgot all about being stuck. He needed to help.
He tried to walk, but the oversized clown shoes attached to the suit made him waddle like a duck. Squeak, squawk, flop! Went his paws. Barnaby jiggled across the lawn, his bottom shaking the colorful fabric.
Lily looked up from her knee. She saw a big, goofy dog wearing a polka-dot outfit, squeaking and doing a silly sideways march. Barnaby tried to bow politely, but he lost his balance and rolled backward, landing on a soft pile of leaves with his legs wiggling in the air.
Lily burst into giggles. "You’re a silly circus puppy, Barnaby!" she laughed, completely forgetting her hurt knee.
Barnaby wagged his tail happily inside the suit. Hearing her laugh was the best reward. He gave one giant, happy shake of his whole body to celebrate. Riiiiip! The stretchy fabric, loosened by all his waddling and rolling, snapped right open. Barnaby popped out of the costume like a toaster pastry, landing safely on his paws.
He trotted over to Lily and gave her a warm, comforting lick. He was just a regular dog again, but to Lily, he was the best clown in the world.
