Coaching for Internship Project (SUV A-Pillar / Draft & Parting Lines) Project DescriptionI am looking for an experienced automotive design engineer to provide expert guidance and coaching for my internship project.
The focus of the project is a fully designed plastic component:
the A-pillar of an SUV.
The core tasks involve optimizing the draft / demolding direction and detailing the parting lines as 3D curves / lines.
Workflow & Collaboration:
Screen Sharing:
I will be doing the actual 3D modeling work myself. You will guide and mentor me live via screen sharing.
Catia V5 Requirement: You must have your own active Catia V5 license. You may need to replicate or rebuild the fastening / attachment concept on your end to develop and demonstrate the best structural solutions.
Your TasksExpert Coaching:
Analyze and optimize the draft direction within Catia V5 to ensure flawless injection molding.
Methodical Guidance:
Assist in the detailed layout of the parting lines as precise 3D curves.
Conceptual Work:
Rebuild and test the fastening concept independently in your own Catia V5 setup to showcase industry best practices.
Live Review:
Monitor and critique my CAD progress live via screen sharing.
Requirements & Qualifications Proven Professional Experience in automotive plastic part design (interior/exterior trim).
Expert level proficiency in Catia V5 (you must provide your own software/license).
Deep understanding of injection molding tools, parting line design, lifters, sliders, and automotive fastening systems.
Strong communication skills.
Project Details Start Date: Immediate.
Work Mode: Remote (Screen sharing sessions + independent Catia work as agreed).
