EasyCatalog & InDesign Expert for Automated Product Catalog with Complex Variants
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Project Description:
I am looking for an experienced Adobe InDesign and EasyCatalog expert to build a fully automated catalog system based on a structured CSV data source. The project involves setting up the data source, creating dynamic templates (Product Styles), and configuring advanced pagination rules.
Key Requirements:
Expertise in EasyCatalog Pagination Module: Must be able to handle "Using Master Pages" pagination logic.
Data Grouping & Logic: Our CSV (n1d.csv) contains multiple records per product (variants of colors and sizes). You must be able to group these and use the "Once Per Group" pagination rule to avoid duplicate main information.
Dynamic Layout Switching: The catalog requires a mix of layouts (e.g., 1 product per page, 2 per page, and 4 per page). You need to set up the logic where a field in the CSV (e.g., "TemplateType") dictates which Master Page and Product Style is applied during pagination using "Apply Master Named In".
Complex Variant Tables: You must configure dynamic InDesign tables that expand vertically or horizontally to list attributes like ColorName, Size, and tiered pricing (Quantity_1, Price_1, etc.) for each child record in a group.
Dynamic Thumbnails: Some products need a dynamic strip of small images showing available colors. This should be handled automatically via EasyCatalog's table or "Formatting Rules" features.
Position Index Management: Proper setup of Position Indexes on Master Spreads to ensure data flows correctly into predetermined layout positions.
Data Details:
Source: CSV file with consistent field names (GroupName, ArtnrModel, ColorImage, Size, Price_1, etc.).
Images: Handled via URLs/Paths in the CSV. You must configure Field Options -> Picture Content for proper scaling and missing-image handling.
Deliverables:
Complete InDesign Master Document with configured Parent Pages.
EasyCatalog Library containing all required Product Styles.
The EasyCatalog Panel Workspace/Configuration exported as a file for easy reuse with future CSV updates.
How to apply:
Please provide examples of previous catalogs you have automated using EasyCatalog. Specifically mention how you have handled product grouping and dynamic template selection in past projects.
