Adding Route to existing Leaflet Map

We need help drawing a route automatically between a start and an end location that are both at sea.
The route must use ferry lanes or sea lanes only and must be flexible to draw a route that does not follow any desgnated ferry lane or sea lane. Project is using Leaflet. See attached video for example.
