We are seeking an experienced freelance carpenter to support the construction of custom scenic environments for live events. This role involves working with wood, laminates, and mixed materials to build, finish, and assemble scenic pieces according to design specifications. Candidates should be comfortable interpreting shop drawings, using standard woodworking tools and equipment, and collaborating with our fabrication team to deliver high-quality finished products on tight timelines. Event or theatrical fabrication experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
Construct and assemble scenic elements from drawings and specs
Operate woodworking tools, saws, routers, and other shop equipment safely
Collaborate with fabricators, painters, and project managers to ensure design intent
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications
Proven carpentry skills with shop or event fabrication experience
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Flexible schedule for project-based freelance work
