I’m upgrading my entryway and need an experienced carpenter to install a new exterior wood door. The work involves:
• Confirming rough-opening measurements and correcting any out-of-square issues.
• Carefully removing the existing door
• Setting the pre-hung wood door, cutting the lower part to fit.
• Installing the hinges, lockset, new letterbox so the door closes tight and latches smoothly.
• Sealing the lower cut edge to door and frame with bitumen paint to prevent rot from water.
I have already purchased the door and basic hardware; you provide tools, fixings and shims. Familiarity with Australian building codes and best-practice weatherproofing is important.
