Produce a comic strip in the educational, cartoonish art style like Kurzgetagt
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Starting from a storybook written by a professional comic strip author, produce in full color with narrative lettered am 8 page with a total of 36 panels (i.e., 4-6 panels per page) that can be used and modified by client.
GOAL: The goal of the comic strip is to introduce NEO, a transformative treatment platform against solid cancers (tumors), potentially able to eliminate cancer from the body, with possibly no or little of the bad side-effects of current options. It is based on an engineered microscopic organism that does not harm adult humans and its natural hosts are animals - but we can't catch it from them. If the engineered harmless organism is injected to a patient with tumors (including metastases), it leaves normal tissue alone but destructively invades tumor cells. When the tumor is disabled, the organisms cannot live long when exposed to normal tissue environment.
TARGET VIEWER/READER. The target viewer is a member of the General Public who has interest in treating cancer (e.g., cancer subjects, patient advocates, affected family members) but who are not very familiar with biology, cancer immunology or microbiology.
Demographically, the audience can be from a teenager (who can get cancer) to the senior citizen.
PORTFOLIO OF PRIOR WORK
The proposer should have already produced such "educational" cartoons in a biological or biomedical field with examples available.
USE OF FINAL PRODUCT
The use of the finished product would be in print form or in electronic form for use as a background presentation, in a website, or as a printed pamphlet for distribution. The graphical elements should be amenable to a future animated video (3D).
In your proposal, please indicate your process (e.g., kick-off meeting, graphical style/elements, wireframe, pilot panel renditions...)
The timeline is close, as there is a first desired use in a presentation to be finalized at very latest on September 5.
My timezone availability for kick-off meeting would best be 16h00-01h00 GMT (4 pm to 1 am, Greenwich Mean Time)
Any question please ask.
