Zódia is an original magical girl comic series inspired by Chinese zodiac mythology. As the creator and writer, I developed a world where each magical girl embodies the traits and powers of a zodiac animal. The story follows Charletta Johnson, a seemingly ordinary teenager who discovers she’s the Rat—the strategic and reluctant leader of the Zodiac. She and the first half of the zodiac (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, and Snake) must face off against Māo, a powerful antagonist born from betrayal and ancient myth—the cat who was left out of the zodiac legend.
The series blends heartfelt character development, action, humor, and cultural folklore. Charletta is a flawed yet compelling protagonist: confident on the outside but emotionally guarded, prone to impulsiveness, and fiercely loyal to her friends. As the writer, I crafted her journey as one of self-acceptance, leadership, and transformation—setting the stage for an expansive ensemble narrative as more zodiac characters are introduced in later arcs.
