Design Five Print-and-Play Games
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I need your help designing five family-friendly print-and-play board games that can be downloaded, printed at home, and enjoyed in 20–30 minutes. Each game should be simple to learn, fun to replay, and balanced so that players aged 8–16 can jump straight in without coaching.
Core design goals
• Mechanics: Every game must weave together roll-and-move, set collection, and deck building in a fresh way.
• Theme: Keep the feel adventurous—treasure hunts, daring escapes, journeys into the unknown—while staying light and approachable.
• Components: Stick to cards, dice, and a board so the entire package remains printer-friendly.
Playtesting & iteration
Prototype each title, test with at least ten distinct groups, and refine until the rules feel smooth and outcomes fair. I’ll need a short post-mortem after every round so we can track improvements.
Deliverables (all print-ready PDFs)
1. Full-colour and ink-saving files for cards, dice templates, and boards.
2. A rulebook per game, no more than two pages, with clear examples and setup diagrams.
3. A brief solo variant where it naturally fits.
4. One consolidated playtest report summarising feedback, changes, and final balancing decisions.
Acceptance criteria
• Setup to first turn in under five minutes.
• No dominant strategy over repeated plays.
• Clear iconography and font choices that remain legible on standard home printers.
• All files export cleanly at both A4 and US Letter sizes.
If this aligns with your skill set and you’re ready to dive into quick, engaging adventure designs, let’s talk schedule and milestones so we can get these games onto kitchen tables soon.
