Change and Crisis Management Training
Crisis and change management involve processes, measures, and methods to minimize business crises or avoid potential business harm situations (Vasickova, 2019).
For this assignment, you will develop a virtual risk management training for virtual employees based upon a crisis management case study. Your training will include one 2- to 4-minute audiovisual presentation, two pertinent readings, a discussion question, and a quiz.
Step 1. Review Review these five components of the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission Enterprise Risk Management Integrated Framework (COSO ERM framework):
• Governance and Culture
• Strategy and Objective-Setting
• Performance
• Review and Revision
• Information Communication and Reporting
Step 2. Plan Plan your virtual risk management training, including these components:
• at least three learning objectives,
• APA-formatted citations of two pertinent articles for participants to read,
• a 2- to 4-minute presentation applying the COSO ERM framework to a real-life crisis/risk management case study,
• a group discussion question with at least two sample responses, and
• a 5-question multiple choice assessment of learning with correct answers indicated.
You may present your virtual training in the format of your choice (website layout, agenda, handout, slide presentation, free learning management system or facsimile, etc.). The training should account for about 2 hours’ of a virtual employee’s time.
Step 3. Research, Select, and Brainstorm Research and select a real-world crisis management case from various news article providers (e.g., New York Times, Wall Street Journal, BBC, Foreign Affairs, The Economists, or ACE Library). Ensure the case occurred within the past five years and, if possible, relates to the virtual work environment. Then, study the case. Consult multiple reliable resources to fact check information.
Brainstorm ways the framework (Step 1) could be applied to the case you selected.
Step 4. Select Select a digital tool to create the audiovisual presentation part of your training with supporting slides or other visuals. (See resources linked on the Learning Objects page.)
Step 5. Create Create slides or other visuals with the following information:
• Title slide
• Introduction: Summarize the selected case with when, what, who, how and/or why information.
• Pre-crisis and organizational background information
• Define the crisis.
• Identify clients and audiences in crisis communication and discuss why this crisis or crisis communication matters.
• Apply the COSO ERM framework to the case, analyzing how similar crises could be prevented or mitigated.
A best practice is to compose a script or talking points to use while recording the narration.
Step 6. Practice and Record Practice your presentation and then record it using the tool you selected in Step 7.
Step 7. Compile Compile the components of your virtual training in the format you selected in Step 2.
Step 8. Submit Submit your virtual training to the assignment using the appropriate assignment submission type (i.e., File Upload, Web URL, or Text Entry) for your product. You may submit the presentation separately from the rest of the training components or combine them in a format of your choice.
If you submit a URL, ensure it provides access to your product without restriction.
Please provide samples of similar work.
