PowerMill CAM Strategy & STL Prep

Job ID: 40381770

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I have a set of existing STL models that must be refined and prepared inside Autodesk PowerMill before we can push them to the shop floor. Your task begins with cleaning up the geometry—closing any voids, smoothing surfaces, and removing stray facets—so the parts are machining-ready. From there we can decide whether a single setup works or if the file should be broken into smaller, easier-to-fixture sections.

Once the geometry is solid, I need you to build a fully optimised CAM workflow directly in PowerMill. That means choosing the right roughing and finishing tactics, setting sensible feeds and speeds, and proving out collision-free toolpaths that keep cycle time in check while protecting the cutters and the machine. I will supply the current STL package along with any fixture limitations and preferred tooling; you return a cleaned model, a documented project file (.pmoptz / .pwr) and the NC code ready to post.

Deliverables
• Revised, watertight STL(s) suitable for machining
• PowerMill project containing all toolpaths, boundaries and strategies
• Verification screenshots or short simulation clip confirming there are no collisions
• Brief run-sheet summarising setups, tools and estimated machining time

If you live and breathe PowerMill and can turn raw mesh into a bullet-proof program, let’s talk and get this part on the machine.
