I need engineering plans for a suspended deck off of my house
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am seeking an experienced engineer who can create detailed engineering plans for a suspended deck off my house. The deck will be rectangular in shape and made of wood. I also require railings to be included in the design. The plans will be used to get local town approval for the deck's construction.
Image 1: location of the deck on the exterior wall with a drawing of the support bracket
Image 2: Information on the construction of the home. The walls on the second floor are Nudura and the walls on the third floor are wood.
Image 3: Picture of the house's third floor and the deck's location. The window on the right will be converted into a door.
I've attached drawings. The drawing also includes a diagram of the steel support brackets the builder would like to use. The two brackets on either end of the deck will be bolted into the wall. The bolts will be hidden in the kitchen cabinets on the second floor. The middle bracket will be screwed (with epoxy or something similar) into the wall.
I would prefer not to use HHS support brackets and just use flat steel brackets as long as they can support the weight of the deck. I can get the brackets made locally.
The window on the right will be replaced with a heavy-duty storm door. The deck is facing south and can get very windy. The floor decking will be Trex or something similar.
Ideal skills and experience for this project include:
- Expertise in engineering and structural design
- Knowledge of deck construction and building codes
- Proficiency in using CAD software to create detailed plans
- Familiarity with working on suspended or elevated structures
- Understanding of wood materials and their properties for outdoor use.
