We are seeking a skilled and creative engineer or constructor with experience in designing wooden structures and the ability to create detailed DIY step-by-step plans. The ideal candidate will be tasked with developing comprehensive guides for constructing various wooden items such as workbenches, tables, chairs, storage boxes, etc.
These plans will be used by DIY enthusiasts mainly in the US to build their projects at home, so clarity, understanding of common materials/requirements applicable in the US for such structures, also the plans outlay simplicity are crucial.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze provided images of wooden structures and develop a similar design.
- Create detailed step-by-step construction plans, including cut/shopping lists, tool requirements, and assembly instructions.
- Ensure that the designs are feasible for DIY projects, with consideration for those who have basic to intermediate woodworking skills.
- Offer innovative solutions to simplify complex construction methods while maintaining structural integrity.
- Produce clear and easy-to-understand drawings or 3D models to assist in the building process.
- Provide estimated time and cost frames for the completion of each project phase.
- Consider safety and ergonomic design principles in each plan.

- Degree in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in woodworking and DIY project planning.
- Proficiency in CAD software or similar design tools.
- Strong understanding of structural integrity and materials.
- Excellent communication and instructional writing skills.
