Residential Structural Integrity Assessment
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
My home is an older residence and I need a qualified structural engineer to confirm its overall physical soundness. The house has been standing for decades, so age-related wear is my main worry.
Scope
Please carry out a full on-site analysis that covers load paths, member capacity, material condition and any signs of settlement or fatigue. I’m especially concerned about:
• Walls/Columns
• Roof/Ceiling
• Foundation
What I expect from you
– Visual inspection supported by measurements and, if needed, nondestructive testing.
– Calculations or modelling in software you trust (SAP2000, STAAD, ETABS, or similar) to quantify safety factors.
– A concise written report with photos, annotated sketches or CAD mark-ups, and clear recommendations ranked by urgency.
– Practical remediation advice I can hand directly to a contractor.
Timing is flexible but I’d like the first findings within a week of your site visit. Let me know your availability to visit the property, the codes or standards you intend to reference, and whether you can provide a stamped report for permitting if it becomes necessary.
