Mechanical / Product Designer – 3D Printed Electronics Enclosure
Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced mechanical / product designer to design a functional, production ready enclosure for an electronic device. The initial build will be 3D printed (FDM/SLA), with a possible later transition to CNC or injection molding, so strong design for manufacturing (DFM) fundamentals are required.
This is a contract / project based role with potential for follow on work.

Scope of Work
• Design a custom enclosure optimized for 3D printing
• Develop internal mounting features (2.2 REFORM screws with BOSS)
• Design external features (I/O component case cutouts)
• Ensure proper wall thickness, tolerances, clearances, and print orientation considerations

Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience designing 3D printed enclosures or housings
• Strong proficiency in one or more of the following:
o SolidWorks
o Fusion 360
o Creo / NX (acceptable if deliverables are compatible)
• Solid understanding of:
o FDM and/or SLA 3D printing constraints
o Mechanical tolerancing and fit
o Fasteners, snap fits, and assembly methods
• Experience designing for electronics packaging is strongly preferred

Deliverables
• Native CAD files (editable, parametric)
• STEP files (latest revision)
• STL files suitable for 3D printing
• Exploded view or assembly view
• All source files transferred upon payment

• File delivery is required before payment
