Playground Triangle Shade Sail Design
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a complete design package for a series of overlapping, triangular shade sails that will shade a children’s playground measuring a little over 1,100 sq ft. The goal is to create broad, consistent shade while keeping the number of support posts to an absolute minimum; my team will handle the actual post and shade sail installation. We will provide the dimensions of the playground that we have already physically measured, so post placement can stay within the confines of the area.
My diagram shows six post locations, but that was only based on our initial measurements, and the posts do not have to be located precisely as shown on the diagram.
Here’s what I already know: triangles are the chosen shape, and we already have the manufacturing company that makes our shade sails and a supplier for the posts. We just have to provide the exact dimension from post to post, and the manufacturer makes all the necessary deductions to include the mounting hardware that they also provide. The posts can be a combination of 12' and 15' heights to provide the right tensioning and creative design. The client will probably choose the colors they want, so color choice is not required at this point
Deliverables
• Scaled layout drawing (PDF + CAD) showing post locations, footing sizes and all sail geometry
• 3-D or isometric visual so we can preview the overlapping effect
• Basic wind-load / tension calculation summary to confirm the design is structurally sound
Acceptance criteria
• Playground shaded to at least 90 % at high sun.
• No more than the post count you specify in the drawings—fewer is better, stability and design is mandatory,
• All files delivered in a form that we can easily download and print.( we are not engineers here, we are a sales, construction and installation company)
If you have experience with tensile-fabric structures, shade-sail layout software, or structural CAD, this should be straightforward. Looking forward to seeing how creatively you can cover the space adequately and with cost saving for the client.
