Industrial Steel House Frame Build
Budget: ₹750 – ₹1,250 INR
I’m getting ready to owner-build an industrial-look home in Perth, Western Australia and need a complete steel-frame package designed around these key specs:
• Structure: 75 mm × 75 mm × 2 mm galvanised SHS throughout
• Cladding: corrugated iron, exposed where possible to keep the raw industrial feel
• Slab: on-ground, spray-foam insulated beneath and at edge
• Layout: at least five rooms (family-sized—think four bedrooms and a study or similar) plus open living areas
• Openings: high-performance, energy-efficient windows sized for WA sun paths and ventilation
• Codes: must meet the NCC/BCA and local Perth council requirements, including wind region compliance
Deliverables I’m after
1. Certified structural calculations and engineering sign-off for the frame, slab and connections
2. Detailed fabrication drawings, cutting lists and fixings schedule for every SHS member
3. Architectural plans, sections and elevations ready for council submission
4. Bill of materials covering steel, cladding, insulation, windows and fasteners
5. 3D model (Revit, SketchUp or similar) so I can walk the build team through the concept
If you can also suggest optional upgrades like solar or rainwater harvesting, great—I may add those later—but the core brief above is what you’ll be quoting on. I’m keen to move quickly once the design is locked, so please outline your expected timeline from concept to certified drawings along with past WA steel-frame examples.
