High-Temp Robotic System Design Expert Needed
Budget: ₹37,500 – ₹75,000 INR
We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Mechanical Engineer with expertise in robot design, simulations, and certification compliance to collaborate on an innovative robotic system. The project involves designing a robot for ATEX & PESO certification, ensuring it meets safety and operational standards for in-production and out-of-production storage tank inspections.
? Job Responsibilities
1️⃣ Mechanical Design & 3D Modeling
✅ Develop 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
✅ Optimize design for ATEX & PESO compliance (flameproof enclosures, sealed electrical components, and safe thermal operation).
✅ Integrate a tracked-based differential steering system for enhanced mobility.
✅ Ensure a short turning radius and any-degree maneuverability.
✅ Design a cooling tray system (similar to EV battery management) to maintain the required operating temperature inside the crawler.
2️⃣ Structural & Thermal Simulations (Ansys & COMSOL)
✅ Ansys Simulations:
Structural analysis to verify load-bearing capacity.
Thermal analysis ensuring efficient operation at 200°C+.
Drop Test to assess durability.
Crash Test to evaluate impact resistance.
DFM (Design for Manufacturing) & DFA (Design for Assembly) analysis.
Heat Transfer Analysis for effective thermal management.
✅ COMSOL Simulations:
Vacuum force calculations to hold a 90 kg crawler upside down (e.g., on a ceiling) under gravity.
Determine vacuum pressure for vertical & diagonal movement.
Compute torque required to move the crawler while maintaining suction vacuum pressure.
3️⃣ ATEX & PESO Compliance Design
✅ Ensure all electrical components are enclosed to prevent sparks from escaping.
✅ Identify BLDC & DC motors suitable for the vacuum source.
✅ Integrate PESO and ATEX-approved safety measures in the design.
✅ Work with third-party certification labs for compliance approval.
✅ Prepare detailed reports & documentation for certification authorities.
? Deliverables
? 3D CAD Models & 2D Drawings (SolidWorks).
? Structural & Thermal Simulation Reports (Ansys, COMSOL).
? Bill of Materials (BOM) with sourcing details (India preferred).
? Part Drawings with proper labeling.
? Final Design Validation & Simulation Videos.
? Assembly Drawings & Manufacturing Guidelines.
? Compliance Documentation for ATEX & PESO approval.
? Ideal Candidate Requirements
? Mechanical Engineering Background (Minimum 5 years of experience).
? Expertise in SolidWorks, Ansys, COMSOL (mandatory).
? Experience with ATEX & PESO certification requirements (preferred).
? Knowledge of industrial robotics, tracked vehicles, and hazardous environment safety.
? Strong analytical skills in vacuum force, torque, and thermal calculations.
? Familiarity with DFM/DFA & sourcing local components in India (preferred).
? Proven experience in robotics, automation, or industrial machine design.
