AniGears, a leading provider of industrial couplings and pulleys, is looking for a freelance Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This part-time role offers flexibility with field visits to client sites to assess and design custom solutions for mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct on-site inspections of couplings and pulleys in industrial machinery.
Identify and diagnose mechanical issues (e.g., wear, efficiency loss, failure).
Design custom solutions (2D models, sketches) using CAD/ SolidWorks.
Prepare technical reports and collaborate with our manufacturing team.
Advise customers on system optimization and maintenance reduction.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Knowledge of couplings, pulleys, and mechanical systems.
Proficient in CAD/ SolidWorks for 2D modeling.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with mechanical measurement tools.
Effective communicator with a flexible work approach.

Field visits will primarily involve manufacturing plants. Site visits are expected to be conducted on a weekly basis. Each site visit is expected to be weekly, lasting approximately 8 hours. The expected project completion timeline is between 1 to 3 months. The expected volume of client sites to be visited is 1-2 per week. Preferred qualifications or certifications: Mechanical Engineering Experience with AutoCAD is preferred. The primary focus area for the engineering solutions will be failure prevention. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering. The engineer will primarily be working with clients in the manufacturing industry.
