Experienced Mechanical Engineer for Trailer Frame Design

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical/Structural Engineer with proven experience in trailer frame design to join us on a freelance basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing a trailer frame capable of supporting 2.8 tonnes, ensuring safety, durability, and compliance with relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop a trailer frame suitable for a 2.8T load capacity
Conduct structural analysis to identify potential weaknesses or stress points
Propose and implement effective solutions for strengthening and optimizing the frame
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices
Provide detailed design documentation and recommendations
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Strong background in load-bearing design and finite element analysis (FEA)
Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
Ability to identify structural weaknesses and propose practical reinforcement solutions
Knowledge of trailer design standards and materials engineering is highly desirable
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
