Project description:
We are a Singapore-based company making odor-proof diaper pails / cat litter bins.
We need a mechanical / plastic product designer to design a simple and reliable latch mechanism between a plastic sealing plate (inner lid) and the bin body.
The outer bin and main lid are already defined.
Your job is only the connection and locking parts:
Latch tongue on the sealing plate
Catch / hook structure on the bin body
Small compression spring + slider (or similar) to provide locking force
Front support step so that the sealing force is supported by the structure, not only the latch
Requirements:
Smooth locking / unlocking
Enough force to keep the sealing plate closed and compress the gasket
Durable for many open/close cycles
Designed for plastic injection molding (draft, ribs, wall thickness, parting line, etc.)
Deliverables:
3D CAD files (SolidWorks preferred) + STEP
2D drawings with key dimensions, tolerances, and material
Simple exploded view showing how parts fit together
Designer profile:
3+ years experience in plastic injection-molded products
Strong skills in SolidWorks (or similar CAD)
Experience with plastic latches / clips / locks is a big plus
