Customization and Optimization of a Basic Model for a Lower Leg Orthosis

Job ID: 38185602

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

Description:
We are looking for a talented CAD designer to assist us in creating and optimizing a basic model for a lower leg orthosis. The basic model is based on an SDL file, which will be adjusted to the dimensions and sizes of individual patients. Our goal is to efficiently and accurately produce the orthosis using an algorithm.

Background:
We have an SDL file that serves as the basis for customization to individual patient measurements. However, there are specific issues we cannot address with our current CAD program.

Task:

1. Correction of the Edge:
• The edge of the orthosis should not return into the curvature and become overhanging in the upper third.
• Instead, the edge should run straight and maintain a clean, non-overhanging border.
2. Correction of the Heel Area:
• The arch in the heel area should be removed.
• The heel area should run as straight as possible towards the front and should also not be overhanging.

Submission:

• Optimized SDL file with the described adjustments.

Evaluation Criteria:

• Accuracy of adjustments
• Technical implementation and comprehensibility
• Efficiency of the solutions

Attached you will find an image detailing the current issues. Pay particular attention to the marked areas of the edge and heel.

We look forward to your creative and technically sound solutions!
